By creating configurations with minimum or maximum dimensions for your parts, you can simulate the impact of the tolerances on the assembly, thus optimizing the assembly and implementation of your designs. Moreover, the model with average dimensions could be directly used by manufacturers to program tools with your CAM software.

Tolerances makes it possible to either quickly apply tolerances to groups of dimensions, either with standard SolidWorks types, or with tolerances defined in an Excel table. The tool can also redefine dimension values according to maximum, minimum or average value, then rebuild the model. Users always have the luxury of returning to initial values.
