DriveAssembly

Evaluate your designs and improve the quality of your products.

Add DriveAssembly to SolidWorks and you can quickly check the influence a parameter has on the behavior of your design. This is useful to explore different solutions and test hypotheses by controlling dimension values while gaining insights on the evolution of other dimensions.

DriveAssembly can drive assembly dimensions to analyze the movement of components in an assembly, or more fundamentally, to drive dimensions of part or sketches. By controlling the variation of the dimension, you can automatically determine other resulting dimensions, point trajectories, and possible interferences.

Key Features
  • Selection of one or more driving dimension
    • Start value
    • End value
    • Step size
  • Extracts driven dimension data in a table
    • Text or Excel sheet
  • Creates curve trajectories
  • Calculates interferences at each step between a set of components
  • Calculates intermediate positions of components
  • Creates an array of components along the motion path
